You haven’t had a White Wine Spritzer until you’ve had one made with St. Germain. A few years ago I was out with my girlfriends and couldn’t decide what I wanted to drink. We’ve all had those nights: It was hot, I wanted something thirst quenching but not filling like beer, tasty without being too sweet and light but satisfying. Not too much to ask for.
A good bartender can make all your dreams come true and so it was that night when I ordered a White Wine Spritzer. My friends looked at me a little surprised, I don’t think I had ordered a wine spritzer since 1989. But it turned out to be the best throwback I had made in a while.
What my favorite bartender brought me that night was a drink that was cool, light and delicious. Fruity but not sweet. The key ingredient was St Germain.
St. Germain Liqueur is made from Elderflowers that are hand-picked from the hillsides of France, each bottle is individually numbered with the year the flowers were picked. Which means it’s fresh and should be drunk within 6 months of opening a bottle. With floral aromas and a slightly sweet taste, St. Germain is a great mixer for wine or Champagne.
