It’s going to be a Merry Christmas but I miss my Patio; the fresh Summer air, warm breeze, cold drinks and the hot sun tickling my skin.
But wait, it’s Christmas Day and so far Connecticut temps have rarely dipped below 40. The weather experts predict today we’ll hit the mid-sixties. I decorated the Christmas Tree with the screen doors open, for cripes sake!
I am hosting Christmas this year and I’m pretty excited, most of all because if it’s in the 60’s we can enjoy a fire in the pit and take in the fresh air.
If I had my way, I would set the table outside!
I’m keeping it simple with the crowd I’ll have: appetizers and finger foods buffet style. Pork Tenderloin roast medallions, cooked on the grill and served with an apple onion chutney, lasagna bites, mini Quiche, chopped salad, stuffed mushrooms, cheese board … tasty, easy to handle food conducive to lots of mingling.
It’s been a crazy year with some wonderful highs and sad lows but I want to end this year on a high note because when all is said and done, I have so much to be grateful for.
There will be a lot going on in 2016 on this page, but for now …
Merry Christmas to All!
